The value was set at approximately $28 million for 1983. The Ford Motor Company (Ford) challenged the local property tax assessments for the years 1983, 1984, and 1985 and sought reduction, alleging that the Township of Edison (Edison) had significantly overassessed the property. This is a municipal-tax case involving the valuation of Ford Motor Company's auto-assembly plant in Edison, New Jersey. The opinion of the Court was delivered by O'HERN, J. Giannuario submitted a brief on behalf of amicus curiae Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Garippa & Trevenen, attorneys).
